Meet Maria Empis! Our Dear Friend and Master of Operations
If you want to encounter a true local Saint of the Algarve, meet Maria Empis! Maria is the best ambassador we know of all that is wonderful in Portugal.
She is fluent in multiple languages (including English, French, and Portuguese). She knows the Algarve like the back of her hand. She can and will recommend wonderful activities in the area. And most of all, she is a dear friend to us, and by extension, to you.
Maria manages our property, especially the apartment. She helps coordinate: preparation and entry for guests, any sort of basic needs or questions during the stay, and then turnover after departure. Maria is available to contact over WhatsApp (download the app) upon reserving your stay.
When you book, we recommend your choose the option for her to provide you with "Maria's Welcome Package" so you arrive to a few local staples, snacks, fresh local pastries, Vinho Verde, etc... It will get your visit started smoothly. Everything is better with Maria!
Meet Max and Sophia! Our Friends from the Atlantic View Restaurant
You will see and greet Max, Sophia, and Natasha, your downstairs neighbors who operate the Atlantic View Restaurant and Bar, most days of your stay.
Max (2nd from left) moved to Portugal as a child from Brazil. He has been a mixologist as well as a restaurant and bar manager in Carvoeiro.
Sophia (center) grew up in a restaurant family in Belgium. You'll find that her grandmother's Flemish recipes - fused with Portuguese tapas - will become some of your favorites on the menu.
Natasha (left) is their - and our - dear local friend and associate. She welcomes everyone on the weekends with her positive energy.
Max and Sophia launched the Atlantic View in 2024. The Atlantic View is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day except for Wednesdays. Expect to hear live music on Saturday nights during the busy tourist season!
